Welcome to Patagonia!

Your journey starts in Argentina’s Glaciers National Park and continues in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park. While designed primarily with the active traveler in mind, non-hikers will find a wide variety of less strenuous daily activities available.

Your guides meet with you each evening to discuss the next day’s opportunities. Choose from easy self-guided walks surrounding the lodge or overland drives to beautiful scenic spots with easy walks. For more active travelers, this is your chance to hike some of the most renowned trails in the region.

 

Explora Lodge - El Chaltén

The newest luxury accommodation for the active traveler.

With only 17 rooms and 3 suites, Explora El Chaltén is an intimate oasis amid the Patagonian wilderness and an ideal base from which to explore Fitz Roy and El Chaltén trails. Day 1 | Arrive Buenos Aires (Sunday)

Most international flights arrive in Buenos Aires early in the morning. You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel by an English-speaking guide. Your room will be ready later this afternoon, so you’ll have an opportunity to store your bags while you stretch your legs on a guided two-hour walking tour of the city.

Day 2 | Onward to Patagonia (Monday)

After breakfast, you’ll head to the domestic airport for your three-hour flight to El Calafate, where you’ll be met and transferred up to Explora El Chaltén Lodge for the next five nights.

Days 3 - 6 | Explore Los Glaciares National Park (Tuesday - Friday)

Hikes include numerous trails around El Chaltén and Fitz Roy, as well as the surrounding scenic lakes and forests.

Day 7 | To Chile and Torres del Paine National Park (Saturday)

Today, you’ll depart El Chaltén for a drive across the pampas to the Chilean border and onward to spectacular Torres del Paine National Park for the next five nights.

Days 8 - 11 | Explore Torres del Paine Park (Sunday - Wednesday)

Spend four full days exploring the magnificent Torres del Paine National Park. You’ll explore the region on a wide variety of full and half-day excursions, including simple walks, exhilarating hikes, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing.

Day 12 | Depart Torres del Paine (Thursday)

You’ll depart the lodge this morning, where you will be transferred to Puerto Natales for your flight to Santiago.

Inclusions and exclusions

Inclusions

  • Meet on arrival and private transfer into Buenos Aires by private driver and English-speaking guide

  • 3-hour walking tour of Buenos Aires

  • 1 night accommodations (bed and breakfast) at Mio Hotel or similar

  • Private transfer to the domestic airport for your flight to El Calafate

  • Meet on arrival in El Calafate and transfer to Explora Torres del Paine.

  • 5 nights accommodations (all meals, beverages) at Explora El Chatén in a standard double room.

  • 4 full days of guided activities (choice of half and full-day programs)

  • Complimentary door-to-door group transfer from Explora El Chaltén to Explora Torres del Paine

  • 5 nights accommodations (all meals and beverages) at Explora Torres del Paine Lodge in a Cordillera Paine room

  • 4 full days of guided activities (choice of half and full-day programs)

  • Transfer to Puerto Natales for flight to Santiago

Exclusions

  • International airfare to Buenos Aires, and return from Santiago

  • Domestic airfare (Buenos Aires to El Calafate, Puerto Natales to Santiago)

  • Travel Insurance (MedEvac coverage is compulsory, cancellation/delay/baggage coverage is optional, but strongly recommended)

  • Laundry and items of a personal nature

Deposit, Payment & Cancellation Schedule

Deposit

  • A deposit of 30% is due at time of booking

  • Any additional arrangements may incur further deposits, due at time of booking those services

Payment

  • The balance is due 90 days before departure

  • Domestic or regional airfares are due at time of ticketing

Cancellation

  • Up to 151 days before departure – deposit may be refunded or transferred to a new departure within one year of the original trip date

  • 150-91 days before departure – deposit is non-refundable but may be transferred to a new departure within one year of the original trip date.

  • 90-61 days before departure – all monies received are non-refundable, but may be transferred towards a new departure within one year of the original trip date.

  • 60-0 days before departure – 100% of the full trip price is forfeited

Cancellation due to force majeure (circumstances outside your control, including medical illness) must be covered by travel insurance. INCA/Inca Floats, Inc. will not be responsible.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to go?

Patagonia is best experienced from October through April. December & January are the most popular times due to the winter holidays and South American summer vacations.

What will I see?

Our itinerary starts in ultra-chic Buenos Aires before venturing into the stunning topography of Patagonia. With a daily choice of half and full-day activities to choose from, you can select the options that best fit your fitness level and interests. This adventure combines hiking, discovery, and adventure with fine dining and luxurious accommodations.

Is this trip for me?

Patagonia can accommodate various levels of activity, from gentle walks to horseback riding and challenging hikes.

Do I need a visa?

Visas for Argentina and Chile are not required at this time for US, Canadian, UK, and Australian citizens. This information can change at any time. For the most recent information, it's best to consult your local Argentine and Chilean consulates.
